    Description

    1872 Italy 5 Lira Silver Coin Handmade Into Personal Ashtray, .925 Silver, Very Good Condition
    This listing is for a handmade personal ashtray made from an 1872 5 Lira Coin minted by the Kingdom of Italy.  The antique coin has been modified by shaping the coin into a concave dish, the addition of three (3) silver balls attached to the reverse of the coin acting as feet, and the addition of a silver rest to the face of the coin.  The rest is marked ‘925’ and has an undetermined hallmark.  The 1872 5 Lira coin is in good condition and the piece itself is in very good condition.  The ashtray has a diameter of about 1 3/8” and a height of just under ¼”.  The modified antique coin ashtray weighs 25.96 grams.
