    Description

    This Mourning Cover was mailed from Bedford, England to Brighton, England in 1902 franked by a 1d scarlet KEVII issue of 1902, Scott 128, tied by a Bedford double circle date stamp.
    Content is 3-sides handwritten on black-bordered paper checking on a parcel of clothes sent "...and something for the old gardener." It also mentions religious persecution: "We seem getting very near to actual persecution now!" And "Oh! the Sabbath-breaking, it gets worse and worse.
    May we and ours be kept from sinning in this and all other directions."
    'Bedford' embossed on backflap.
    Slit open top, the backflap is sealed and intact. Brighton cds verso as an arrival marking.
