    Description

International Bidders are welcome to participate, I am offering eBay’s Global shipping on this listing.
    1950 National
    NC-TV 7M,
“Videometer” table top, portable 7” TV. These were sold as test equipment to both view and meter signal strength and to test AC line voltage. There's a chart under clear plastic on the top of the set to convert meter readings to micro-volts. Please see period ad scan below and read more information about this unique and very rare TV.
Cabinet is complete with the exception of the often missing pair of small sheet metal L brackets that hold the back to the bottom in the center. Cosmetics are very good to excellent overall with some rubs and scratches here and there. As you can see in the pics below there is minimal uniform wear to most of the metal cabinet but very little wear to the all-important face. This is one of, if not the nicest one in existence. These were well used by TV repair and installation men and got beat up in the back of their trucks. This one must have been removed from service early on and stored all this time.
The chassis is all-original, unrestored and has all the tubes. I did not test the electronics or any of the tubes but did test the RCA 7JP4 picture tube. Sencore CR70 Test: H-K Shorts - Good, G1 Shorts - Good, Cutoff - Good, Emissions - Good and the Life Test is Good as well. I plugged the picture tube in to a known good set and it lit up bright. See last chassis picture below.
I am selling this TV as-is, display only, not working, for parts and repair, no returns. The important thing is the chassis is all there with no known missing electronic parts so it is valuable as a true antique or can be restored if desired.
The picture tube may work perfectly or not at all. If you don’t want to take a chance on it, that is fine with me. I will subtract from the final sale price and keep it for myself.
TV measures 11” tall, 20” wide, 18” deep and weighs 55 lb.
Box will measure 16” tall, 25” wide, and 22” deep and weigh 60 lb. when packed.
Good, strong packing supplies/boxes including 2” thick hard Styrofoam to line the boxes will cost and FedEx Ground shipping (cheapest/ best handling ground service) will cost .00. There is no charge for my packing labor.
The pictures below are of the actual vintage TV I am selling.
