This is a perfect Staffordshire, England 9" Alfred Meakin plate.  Like many calendar plates this one has the months of the year and the signs of the zodiac.  The royal blue on white is classic especially with the rural farm harvest theme in the great detail the Meakin plates are prized for.  This plate would look really nice on the wall in a dining room, living room or kitchen especially if the year 1973 is of significance to you.
