vintage dog, Art Deco ashtray, trinket tray, onyx base 4x3, Scotty

Vintage ash tray or coin tray or trinket dish has a metal dog painted yellow ochre.  Paint is worn off in many places. The dog is screwed into a onyx marble type base.
Most likely a Scotty dog, but it could be a Corgi or other breed. See what you think.
The corners of the base have been chipped, there is at least one chip along the edge. The 'bowl' feels smooth to the touch except for one scratched area . The scratch is from 10 to 12 near the top of the bowl if one looked at the bowl as a clock face.  By the way the orange/brown stripe in the marble in the bowl from 4 to 10 , is just a stripe, it is not a scratch.
Stone is cold to the touch.
