Vintage Rare Complete Set 4 Individual Brass Ashtray Boxes on Handled Tray Bridge Suit of Playing Cards Design ~ Spade Diamond Heart Clover
Hard to find complete set of individual box ashtrays with their custom fit holding tray in brass and red/black enamel with glass inserts and cigarette rests/holders.
Each box measures 1-7/8" high, 1-7/8" square.  4 fit onto/into recessed bottom tray with handle - measures 3" tall (bottom to top of handle), 4-1/2" square.
Fairly good vintage condition with some wear (surface scratches, some discoloration, brass needs polishing) otherwise in good shape - black and red enamel intact, colors vibrant, glass inserts intact in each box (the glass insert in the red heart box has chip in one corner - please see photo).
Marked Gramme's Inc, Allentown, PA on bottom of holding tray and on each individual box ashtray.  Gramme's was in business from 1875 until the 1960s.  We believe this set dates from the 1950s.
