Vintage 1940's or early 1950's Homer Laughlin Georgia Eggshell ceramic turkey platter with special advertising for the Golden Furniture Company, 124 N Hill Street, Griffin, Georgia. The platter measures 13 3/8" by 10 3/4". The creamy warm white ceramic platter is transfer decorated with a plump tom turkey. This must have been an advertising give-away from the furniture store- probably at holiday time when most businesses remember their loyal customers. No chips , a couple of utensil marks in the glaze but this really doesn't look like it was used often, slight wear to the metallic gold lettering of the advertising, a few underglaze spots on one part of the edge.
